American singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Laney Jones is on a musical journey of self-discovery and exploration. Her musical progression is clear all throughout her new album “Stories Up High.” This discovery of exploration has been a natural occurrence, according to Laney in a recent interview with Arch City Music podcast co-hosts Chad Winch and Mike McClanahan. “It’s just something that flew out”, Laney said, describing the process of creating “Stores Up High” and its release out into the world.

After the first few spins of the album’s title track “Stories Up High” it is extremely apparent why she made this list. Her blooming vocal at the climax of this track is so audibly pleasing and lyrics so relatable that it leaves you craving a deep dive into her entire catalogue.
