Saint Louis University head women’s soccer coach Katie Shields has announced that forward Danielle Manning (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) will join the Billikens next fall.

Manning, who is playing her final season at Grosse Pointe South this spring, was a second-team All-State selection the past two years and All-State honorable mention as a freshman. She is a three-time All-Region and All-District honoree who has helped lead the Blue Devils to three district championships, two regional titles and one state semifinals berth. Manning was named to the Michigan All-Academic team in 2011 and has made the Grosse Pointe South honor roll every semester.

Manning has been a member of the Michigan Gators club team since 2007. She helped the Gators win the Michigan State Cup in 2012 (U16) and 2013 (U17) as well as the U17 Disney Showcase in 2013. Additionally, Manning was in the Michigan ODP state pool in 2008-09 and again in 2011-12. She was a member of the 2012 Michigan Region II championship team.

“Danielle is an outstanding addition to an already tremendous recruiting class,” Shields said. “She is an athletic forward who will provide us with pace and attacking prowess on the forward line. We are thrilled to welcome Danielle to the Billiken family.”
