(BALLWIN, MO) The tri-force of travel teams from St. Louis-based Arch Rival Roller Derby (ARCH) hosted flat-track frenzies at Queeny Park’s Midwest Sport Hockey Saturday and collectively finished the evening 1-2.
At the event’s main tussle featuring top-ranked teams within the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), the Arch Rival All Stars, currently positioned first in the WFTDA’s North America Northeast Division, easily outpaced Louisiana’s Red Stick Roller Derby, currently ranked fourth in the North America South Division.
The ARCH A-team jettisoned their sanctioned, undefeated record to 9-0 with Saturday’s 340-59 win.
The impressive output continued the A-team’s upward trajectory. After outright winning May’s WFTDA Northeast post-season tourney, the All-Stars received a first-round bye at the governing body’s upcoming Global Championships in November.
Saturday’s opener at Queeny saw ARCH’s C-team of developmental skaters, the Fleur-De-Linquents, handed a 203-117 setback by Davenport, Iowa’s Quad City Rollers, currently ranked #43 in the WFTDA Northeast.
The three-game finale saw ARCH’s B-Team, the Nemesis, currently ranked #16 in the Northeast Region, finish 2024 with a 144-58 loss to Ohio Roller Derby, currently ranked #13 within the same collective.
