Soccer is back in one of America’s hot beds. St. Louis FC, the USLPRO team and Chicago Fire minor league affiliate kicks off its season tomorrow in Louisville, KY against Louisville City FC.
The STLFC supporter group the St. Louligans will be out in full force (Section 126 of Slugger Field) for the season opener as head coach Dale Schilly’s squad look to start the season off strong. The team, which includes a number of local players, also includes many players from over seas as well.
One of the newest signees Brandon Barklage, a veteran of the MLS, should provide the team with some much-needed experience as the squad continues to develop together. Barklage helped St. Louis pick up its second victory in four pre season games with a 2-1 win over the Tulsa Roughnecks FC.
Following their game against Louisville City, STLFC travels to Tulsa to take on the Roughnecks once more before heading home to the Soccer Park in Fenton to take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the teams home opener April 11, at 7:30 PM CT.
