Saint Louis FC announced today a pre-season match with NASL side Indy Eleven on Wednesday, March 16. This will mark the second consecutive year the clubs have met in their respective pre-seasons after Indy Eleven visited World Wide Technology Soccer Park for an open scrimmage last Spring.
The clubs will be meeting at a neutral site this year, which is scheduled to be announced next week. The site of the match should be in a convenient location for fans and supporters who are interested in watching STLFC wind down its pre-season before gearing up for the USL season opener on March 26.
“This is a great opportunity for our club to build upon what we feel is a quality preseason schedule.” said Saint Louis FC General Manager Jeremy Alumbaugh. “Indy Eleven will provide quality competition and with our season opener only ten days later, it will give us a chance to fine tune some things before we begin our 2016 USL season.”
Indy Eleven, which currently plays its home games at Michael Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis finished 5th and 9th in the Spring and Fall seasons, respectively, in the 11 team North American Soccer League.
