HARRISBURG, Pa. – Saint Louis FC earned a point in their final road game of USL season play.

With the draw, Saint Louis moves to 6-11-9 (27 pts.) while Harrisburg moves to 10-10-5 (35pts.)

Field conditions were called into questions by both players and broadcasters. It will be intersting how the USL deals with the adversity. The higher than normal thick and barely cut grass seemed to slow the ball down immensely during play.

Kentaro Takada, a veteran of the USL, was especially displeased with the field conditions. TakaTweet

The visitors had a familiar face return to the lineup tonight as Richard Dixon made his first start since being injured in late May.

The game started out by issuing yellow cards to Maher (’12) and Ekra (‘4) within the first 15 minutes.

The hosts had chances early, but all were stopped by GK Alec Kann. STL answered back with a cross sent in from Jacob Bushue to Jordan Roberts, but was turned aside by Harrisburg GK Nick Noble.

Play picked up in the second half, as Harrisburg sent in two shots off the post. However, the Saint Louis attack continued. A ball sent in from outside the-18 from Bryan Ciesiulka found the foot of Jamiel Hardware who ripped a shot low to the near side but was stopped by Islanders GK Noble.

Another chance late for the visitors as Jordan Roberts burst through the Harrisburg defense and put a shot on that went just wide to the far side. That would prove to be Saint Louis’s last chance to find the back of the net.

Saint Louis FC will close out their season with back to back home games, beginning on Saturday, September 12th against the Charlotte Independence. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM.
