Saint Louis FC looks to bounce back, Hosts NYRB II

FENTON, Mo– After losing a hard fought battle last week to the USL Western Conference leader Colorado Springs Switchbacks, Saint Louis FC (3-4-5) looks to bounce back and get a home win against the visiting New York Red Bulls II (5-5-4).

The New York Red Bulls II are coming off a 2-0 road win over STL FC rival, Louisville City FC last weekend. NYRB II have won their last two games in league play while not conceding a goal in that stretch. The team is playing good soccer as of late, and Saturday’s match will be New York’s fifth consecutive road game.

Saint Louis FC will be looking to break out and start strong off the hop. The team has been subject to an opponent scoring the first goal in each of its last five matches. It’s tough to battle back game in and game out. In the last five games, STL FC is 1-2-2.

The injury bug has yet to be exterminated. Players OUT this evening are: Richard Dixon, James Musa, Mike Roach, Brandon Barklage.
The only player that is QUESTIONABLE: Sam Fink.

Saint Louis desperately needs this home win to head into the midway point of the season on a high note. Drawing with opponents is not the worst thing possible. They’re holding strong for a young team still trying to find an identity. With a few minor adjustments, STL should be able to find the back of the net and start winning games on a more consistent basis.
