Last Time Out: In Louisville City FC’s first home match of the season, Magnus Rasmussen and Charlie Adams found the back of the net, giving Louisville its first win of the season. Saint Louis FC neglected to notch a goal, but gained its first real game experience in the USL.
The Kings Cup Rivalry: The Kings cup was created in 2015 amongst the fan bases of Saint Louis and Louisville. Both cities have French roots, and dawn the Fleur De Leis. These teams will square off a total of four times this season, and it is only fitting that the newest team in the league creates a friendly rivalry against a club close to home. Now, close to home is just a short five hours away, but regardless of the distance, Saint Louis FC fans traveled down to support their local club. After speaking with St. Louligan (Saint Louis FC’s official Fan Support Group) Malia Dunbar, she explained, “We expect at least one section of bleachers filled with Louisville City FC support on Sunday. We had a great time going down there (Louisville) earlier this year. The rivalry is fun for us as fans, and hopefully fun for the players as well.”
You can catch this USL Eastern Conference rivalry contest Sunday Night, May 24th, at 7:30pm. Tickets are still available online at www.saintlouisfc.com. There will also be a fireworks display following the game.
