Saint Louis FC has made a pair of additions to the club’s roster for the 2015 USL season, welcoming midfielder Jamiel Hardware and defender Sam Fink to the side.
Jamiel Hardware – M / Jamaica
Hardware, 22, has two years of experience in USL. He made 44 appearances for Harrisburg City Islanders over the past two seasons, scoring four goals.
“Jamiel had a great end of the season with Harrisburg last year,” STL FC Head Coach Dale Schilly said. “He had some great moments in the final couple of games of the regular season, as well as in the playoffs.
“Jamiel is very gifted on the ball, athletic, and good going forward. He has shown the ability to create and score goals, and is also willing to work to get the ball back. There are some quality guys in the team fighting for a similar role. I’m anxious to see how Jamiel deals with the competition.”
Previously, Hardware played in Sweden with Motala AIF. He also had a stint in the USL PDL with the Ventura County Fusion in 2012, scoring two goals in 11 appearances.
Sam Fink – D / Edwardsville, Ill.
Sam Fink, 21, finished his four-year career at Wake Forest University in 2014. He played in 74 games for the Demon Deacons, making 54 starts.
“Sam and I have worked together since he was a youth player,” Schilly said. “He had a very good high school career, a very good Academy career, and was a cornerstone for Wake Forest for four years. His size and mobility, coupled with his distribution from the center back position, give him some very important qualities to having a successful professional career.
“Every time Sam has faced the challenge of the next level, he has met it. The challenge of competing in USL is another one of those moments in his development. We have every belief that he will take that next step.”
Fink played his prep soccer for Edwardsville High School. His Edwardsville team made the Illinois State Final Four in 2008, 2009, and 2010.
