The St. Louis Cardinals have announced their 26-player active roster for tonight’s National League Wild Card game against the Los Angeles Dodgers that is set for 7:10 p.m. CDT/5:10 p.m. PDT. The Cardinals will be playing in their second one-game N.L. Wild Card game, last doing so in 2012 when they defeated the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field.
The team’s Wild Card game roster includes 20 players with past postseason experience, five rookies and 10 players who were not on the team’s active roster for Opening Day. Seventeen of the 26 players on the roster were developed within the Cardinals organization.
The team also announced that is has designated for assignment RHP Seth Elledge and selected the contract of 1B Juan Yepez from Memphis (AAA). Yepez’ postseason eligibility comes as an injury replacement for infielder Max Moroff.
