After creating a buzz in their freshman outdoor soccer campaign last summer, St. Louis Lions WPSL makes a return to the pitch in May.

The team finished 2018 with a record of 2-2-4 for 10 points within the Central Region-Heartland Conference of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL). That double-digit benchmark included a pair of draws against defending National Champions Fire & Ice WPSL and the inspired efforts throughout helped the collective take top honors as the conference’s Franchise of the Year.
While their 2019 roster is still being determined at the moment, the ground work for their sophomore drive is already in place with this week’s reveal of their official schedule.

Within the 10-match docket are five home contests at Cottleville’s Tony Glavin Soccer Complex. Once again, Lions WPSL will play within the Heartland Conference however the six-squad complexion has changed with the addition of three franchises and the subtraction of a pair (Des Moines and KC Athletics).
The season launches with a cross-state road trip to Springfield Lady Demize Memorial Day weekend and is followed by the home opener one week later against former Red River Conference entry FC Wichita.

Road showdowns against the aforementioned Fire & Ice and Omaha, Nebraska’s Elite Girls Academy are followed by mid-June rematches at home.
Lions WPSL face state rival KC Courage in Kansas City on June 22 and then travel to Wichita the following day.
The locals finish their regular season with back-to-back home matches with Springfield and Kansas City the final weekend of June at the Cottleville pitch.
