The 29th annual Budweiser Guns ‘N Hoses will be held on Wednesday November 25th . The show starts at 6:30pm at the Scottrade Center. Guns N Hoses features three round boxing and mma matches between police officers and firefighters. The event raises money for Backstoppers. Backstoppers is an organization that provides money and support to the families of police officers and firefighters, who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Guns N Hoses has raised almost $5 million dollars to support Backstoppers since 1987.
The 2015 event has 15 bouts of mma and boxing scheduled and will feature male and female competitors. The lineup for the show will be set at a box off on November 18th. The box off is free to the public, and will be held at River City Casino starting at 6pm. Nearly 50 police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel have been training for months for the main event on the 25th. The box off determines who will make the cut for the main show. There will be approximately 25 bouts to help determine the fight card for Guns ‘N Hoses.
College students can get involved in the Cheers 4 Badges event at Ballpark Village on Friday November 20th. It is a pre-party for Guns ‘N Hoses. College students are invited to form teams of four and compete in events to win prizes. Events include mechanical bull riding, a punching machine, an obstacle course, announcing an sporting event and a team tug of war.
