Hayley Kiyoko sells out Delmar Hall

Pop music’s newest LGBTQ queen is coming to St. Louis. Widely supported by the gay community after hits like Girls Like Girls and Curious, Hayley Kiyoko is bringing her Expectations Tour to Delmar Hall on May 4th.

This announcement has caused a stir, causing all 750 tickets originally available for the show to sell in less than three weeks, putting Delmar Hall at capacity as one of 15 shows that Kiyoko has sold out on her debut headlining tour.

In 2016, Kiyoko skyrocketed to Twitter-fame after releasing a coming out story with Paper Magazine. In this interview, she highlighted that her sexuality had been an incredible influence throughout her youth and teen life, making her become resilient to the world’s sometimes close minded views. This is a great influencer for her music, as she not only romanticizes girls and makes she/she pronouns less trivial, but also tells of her past when not everyone believed in her the way most do now.

“The problem is you feel like you can’t share your true feelings with anyone for fear of outing yourself and facing judgement. So you struggle. And feel alone,” Kiyoko said in regards to her life prior to coming out. “I never had role models to make my feelings feel less taboo.”

With Kiyoko as a strong new role model for LGBTQ youth, it should definitely make their feelings seem less taboo. With 50,000,000 overall streams on Spotify and over 2 million followers across all social media platforms, the support for Kiyoko is undeniable and speaks  in volumes how supportive of the LGBTQ community people have become.

LGBTQ artist Hayley Kiyoko’s tour spans 33 cities across North America to celebrate the release of her first full length album titled Expectations. With 15 shows already selling out, her management has recently announced repeat shows in cities that have sold out in order to allow those who were unable to get tickets the first time around see the show. Hopefully, St. Louis will make this list.
