St. Louis Ambush head coach Daryl Doran will be back at the helm of the Major Indoor Soccer League team next season. In making the announcement, team owner Andrew Haines said, “I’m pleased to have Daryl back for another season. Neither Daryl or myself are satisfied with our record this season and we both agree that the 2014-15 season looks very promising as we pursue some key veteran players during the off-season to help our young team.”
The 2014-15 season will be Doran’s 13th coaching a St. Louis professional indoor soccer team. He coached the original St. Louis Ambush to the 1995 NPSL Championship and coached the St. Louis Steamers for four seasons between 2000 and 2005. He has coached in three different leagues; the NPSL, WISL and MISL. Doran is the only player to have played for every St. Louis professional indoor soccer team. His 827 career games are the most of any player in American professional indoor soccer history. He appeared in 13 All-Star Games.
Doran said, “I’m excited to be coming back next season. I had a great time getting back into it and learned a lot about the league and the teams this year. I’m disappointed we didn’t make playoffs but look forward to keeping a good core group of players and adding a little more experience in the off season.“
