MISL Names Sinclair To Team Of The Week For Third Time

by Press Release

St. Louis Ambush forward Odaine Sinclair has been name to the Major Indoor Soccer League’s Team of the Week for the seventh week of the 2013-14 regular season. For Sinclair, it is the third time he has been so honored.

Sinclair leads the Ambush in points with 21, three of which came on assists that help propel the team to a dramatic 14-12 overtime victory over the Syracuse Silver Knights on Sunday, December 29 at the Family Arena.

Odaine contributed to the team’s first goal of the game when he assisted on Corey Adamson’s tally at 2:51 of the first quarter. With the Ambush trailing 12-10 and the clock ticking down in the fourth quarter, Sinclair assisted on Mike Roach’s game-tying goal with just 44 seconds remaining in regulation play. In overtime, Odaine made a pass to Corey Adamson, who buried the game winner in the back of the net to cap the comeback and bring the 6,209 fans at the Family Arena to their feet.

Adamson and Roach both earned honorable mention from the league for their performances. In addition to his game-tying goal on December 29, Roach scored St. Louis’ only two goals in their 24-4 loss to the Milwaukee Wave on December 28.

The league named Syracuse midfielder Kenardo Forbes Player of the Week. Forbes had five goals in two games. Forbes had a pair of 3-point goals in the Silver Knights’ 18-15 win against the Comets on Saturday night, scoring the go-ahead goal that gave Syracuse a 14-13 lead at the end of the third quarter before capping the win with the final goal of the game. The following afternoon against the Ambush, Forbes was again in line to lead Syracuse to victory with a short-handed goal that put Syracuse up by two before the thrilling Ambush rally.

Syracuse goalkeeper Bryan O’Quinn was also honored as he was named to the Team of the Week after he made 12 saves in the victory against the Comets. O’Quinn leads the MISL with a .821 save percentage.

Missouri’s Vahid Assadpour was also named to the Team of the Week as he recorded a hat trick in a losing effort against the Silver Knights. Joining him was Rochester Lancers forward Gary Boughton, who had a pair of goals in his side’s 10-5 win against the Pennsylvania Roar. Milwaukee’s Carlos Munoz also earned selection after his four-goal game helped the Wave take victory against St. Louis.
