The Final Lap Tour: 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, and Jeremiah

This was my first true rap concert besides Post Malone earlier in the month. First rap concert as in profanity every other word, the cowed never sitting down, and the smoke rising to the top. It was awesome! Jeremiah started off the show, he performed some of his chart-topping hits such as “Oui”, “Down On Me”, and ‘Birthday Sex”. Busta Rhymes had the best entrance. There was a light-up LED throne on stage and he turned around and the crowd went WILD. Busta is now 50 years old, and one of the most seasoned rappers in the game. He is best known for his fast raps and wittiness. He had his sidekick Spliff Star, they both matched each other’s energy so well and they had matching clothes.

Busta performed his rap from “Look At Me Now” by Chris Brown ft. Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne. He took a few moments for a dramatic pause before he started it. That song came out when I was in middle school and I remember hearing Busta’s part and thinking “Wow, is this even real?”. Well, my question was answered the other night! Busta sounded just like he did on the track! The crowd was screaming and jumping. It was definitely surreal to hear this live. You have to listen to the song if you have never heard it. You will be blown away too. This man is 50 and is still sounding quick and on his toes, his energy was vibrant.

50 Cent made a huge entrance as well, out of all the performers he had the most staging, dancers, and even a live band to help induce the sound. Of course, tracks such as “Candy Shop”, “In Da Club”, and “P.I.M.P” were performed. This is 50 Cents last tour, he has given us bangers since the 90s and they still get played in clubs today. After hearing all of them perform I was really hoping to get Eminem to join the stag. One can dream, right?

Aside from some technical difficulties, the show was fantastic. It brought out true die-hard 50 Cent fans. Again, another great concert. This summer has been one of the best lineups. I am excited to see what summer brings. Umm, Eminem? (probably not).
