St. Louis Ambush Sign Veteran Dan Antoniuk

by Press Release

With the season opener less than two weeks away, the St. Louis Ambush continue to fill out their roster with the signing of soccer veteran Dan Antoniuk. The Ambush are a Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) expansion club for the 2013-14 season.

Antoniuk is a 10-year veteran, having played professionally both indoors and outdoors. The 32-year old is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has played both defense and offense during his career.

Antoniuk spent his college career playing for Wheaton College from 1999 to 2002. He holds the school record for career goals (54) and points (144) and was a 1999 NCAA Division III Third Team All American. He has seen action on the outdoor pitch for the Portland Timbers, Montreal Impact, Atlanta Silverbacks, Carolina Railhawks, Charleston Battery, FC Edmonton and Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Dan’s indoor career includes stints with the Milwaukee Wave, San Diego Sockers, Philadelphia KiXX, New Jersey Ironmen and Chicago Storm.

Head Coach Daryl Doran said the Ambush continues to build a roster with a mix of talented young stars and experienced veterans. He said he feels the club is heading towards opening day with “the right mix” of both and that Antoniuk will be a key player in that mix.

The Ambush, presented by Simmons First National Bank, will play a 23-game 2013-14 schedule, including 13 home games at the Family Arena. Opening Weekend starts the season with back-to-back home games Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23. The expansion Pennsylvania Roar tangle with the Ambush in the November 22 affair and the cross-state rival Missouri Comets come to town for the November 23 contest. First kick is slated for 7:35 p.m. both nights.
