The St. Louis Cardinals continue making moves near the trade deadline. The Cardinals trade 1B Luke Voit to the Yankees for LHP Chasen Shreve and RHP Giovanny Gallegos.

The New York Yankees tonight announced that they have acquired right-handed hitting 1B Luke Voit and international signing bonus pool money from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for LHP Chasen Shreve and RHP Giovanny Gallegos.
Voit is a career .288 hitter in the Minor Leagues, but he hasn’t been able to play consistently for the Cardinals in the Major Leagues.
The Cardinals look to be adding more bullpen arms with the struggles they have faced all season. Both Shreve and Gallegos have Major League experience but have been near league average this season.
Shreve is 2-2 with a 4.14 ERA in 39 appearances (37 innings).
Gallegos has not recorded a decision and has a 4.50 ERA in 4 appearances (10 innings).
