The St. Louis Ambush have acquired veteran forward Antonio Manfut from the Baltimore Blast, the team announced today. Per league and team policies, no further details of the transaction will be disclosed.
The 2022-23 season is Manfut’s tenth in professional indoor soccer and this marks his second stint with St. Louis. He previously appeared in eight games with the Ambush in the 2018-19 season before being traded to the Florida Tropics. Manfut began his career with the Syracuse Silver Knights, where he spent five seasons from 2012 to 2017. He has also played for the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas (2017-18), the Ambush (2018-19), Florida Tropics (2019-21), and the Blast (2022-23). In 160 career games, Manfut has tallied 94 goals and 58 assists.
Ambush co-owner, GM and Head Coach Jeff Locker said, “Manfut brings a lot of experience to the table and we are counting on him to help our offensive efforts in the second half of the season.” Manfut said he is, “excited to be back playing in front of such a great fan base and ready to contribute to a strong push for the playoffs in the second half of the season.”
After two weekends on the road, the Ambush return to The Family Arena when they play back-to-back home games this weekend. The Milwaukee Wave come to town on Friday, February 10 at 7:35 p.m. CST, followed by a visit from the Florida Tropics on February 11 at 7:05 p.m. CST.
