These days I often finding myself drawing my serotonin from nostalgia. Whether that be movies, toys or tv shows from my childhood. But nothing sparks happy memories for me quite like 90’s country does. So, when I was given the opportunity to see Terri Clark open for the legendary Reba McEntire on October 22 at the Enterprise Center in St.Louis, it made my boot scootin’ heart very happy.
Reba Was Wonderful In St Louis

Terri Clark engaged the crowd with all of her biggest hits. She opened with “I Just Wanna be Mad” and closed her set with the snarky tune “Girls lie too”. But perhaps the highlight was when everyone turned on their phone flashlights and lit the stadium during the love song “Now that I found you”.
After a short intermission, Reba took the stage. She was covered in sequins and sparkled like the queen she is. I’m sure it’s plastic surgery but I swear she has barely aged! 4 total outfit changes, all of them sparkly and not a single red hair out of place. She joked about how much hairspray she has used over the years. She was funny and engaging and a true entertainer. She sang several of her biggest hits, including “The Night the Lights went out in Georgia” and “Fancy”. She showed clips from her television show “Reba” and we all remembered how funny that show was. Barbara Jean was a hoot!
The highlight of her set for me was when she sang “The Greatest Man I never Knew”. This song is about her father, Clark. Reba said she wanted to be a barrel racer but her dad encouraged her to sing. Despite her success, he never told her that he loved her and that broke my heart. The final lyrics being “He never said he loved me, guess he thought I knew”. A poignant song about the strong, silent type of man who had a fierce love for his family.
It was a fantastic show from start to finish and I am thankful to have had the chance to be there, very close to the front. A sign of good entertainment is when you can keep a crowd engaged and both ladies excelled at this. Go see them if you get the chance!
