Today, multiplatinum Pontiac, MI rising rapper DDG unveils a new single and music video entitled “If I Want You.” Listen to “If I Want You” HERE and watch the music video HERE.
On the track, spacey production echoes with a sparse beat and an effervescent guitar loop. DDG serves up emotionally charged verses and a hypnotic hook underlined by beautiful background vocals and mesmerizing harmonies. The music video is starring none other than his girlfriend Halle Bailey of Chloe x Halle who appears in the accompanying cinematic visual, which depicts their vibe on-screen in a fascinating fashion.
It notably paves the way for his anxiously awaited new album, It’s Not Me, It’s You, coming very soon.
He set the stage for album with “Storyteller.” It has already amassed over 2.1 million Spotify streams and 2.9 million YouTube views on the music video. Right out of the gate, REVOLT noted, “From a musical standpoint, DDG has come a long way,” and UPROXX hailed it as “a romantic-ish single detailing a toxic situation that made him wiser—if not more forthcoming about his own shortcomings.
