The St. Louis Ambush visit the Milwaukee Wave Sunday, February 6, 2022 at 1:05 p.m. CST at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. St. Louis comes into the game with a 5-7-0 record, while Milwaukee is 3-6-1. Sunday’s game will be webcast via the masltv channel on YouTube.
Sunday’s match is the second of five meetings between the Ambush and Wave slated for the 2021-22 regular season and is the only game of the weekend for each team. The Ambush won the last meeting between the two clubs by a score of 7-6 on December 19 at The Family Arena. The Ambush are looking to turn things around after losing their last two games last weekend. The Wave also played twice last weekend, winning one and losing the other.
Milwaukee’s roster is led by the dangerous Ian Bennett, who at 38 years old shows no signs of slowing down. At the start of weekend play, Bennett leads the league in points (30) and goals (24) and is second in points per game average (three) and power play goals (five). Bennett always give opposing defenders all they can handle and Sunday’s match should be no diferent.
St. Louis’ leading player is Mohamed Ndiaye, who leads the team in points (23), assists (15) and points per game average (2.1). The leading scorer for the Ambush is JT Thomas with a dozen goals.
While Milwaukee’s Bennett is certainly impressive, he is the only player on the team with a double digit goal count. The Ambush, by contrast, have three players in double digits (Thomas at 12 and Vadim Cojocov and William Eskay at 10 each).
Sunday’s visit to Milwaukee is the third of three consecutive away games for the Ambush. The team comes home for their next two contests when they host the Chihuahua Savage Friday, February 11 at 7:35 p.m. CST at The Family Arena followed by a visit from Utica City FC on Saturday, February 12 at 7:05 p.m. CST.
