The St. Louis Ambush have acquired two players on loan from the Harrisburg Heat for the remainder of the 2021 season. Harrisburg announced on February 5 that they would opt out of the 2021 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The players are Jerjer Gibson and William Eskay. Per league and team policies, no further details of the transaction have been disclosed.
Forward Jerjer Gibson is a veteran of five professional arena soccer seasons. He appeared in 30 games with the Ambush from 2017-19. He also played with the Pennsylvania Roar, Baltimore Blast, Syracuse Silver Knights and last season with the Heat. In 112 career games, he has tallied 60 goals, 40 assists and 31 blocked shots.
Defender William Eskay has played the past two seasons with Harrisburg, appearing in 43 games. He has posted 24 goals, eight assists and has blocked 16 opposing shots.
Ambush co-owner and GM Jeff Locker said, “With the recent slew of players being either injured, sick or quarantined, we felt adding depth to the roster was in the best interests of the team and players.”
The Ambush journey across the state to square off with the Kansas City Comets this Friday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. CST at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence. The next home stand for the Ambush is a two-game series against the San Diego Sockers on Friday, February 26 at 7:35 p.m. CST and Sunday, February 28 at 3:05 p.m. CST at the Axius Field at the Family Arena.
