The St. Louis Ambush host the Milwaukee Wave Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 5:05 p.m. CST at the Family Arena.
Sunday’s match will be the second of five meetings between the two Eastern Conference rivals this season. The Wave took the first contest when they defeated the Ambush 7-2 at the Family Arena November 29. Sunday’s game is the second in as many days for the Wave, who host the Florida Tropics Saturday night in Milwaukee. It is the only game of the weekend for the Ambush.
Veteran forward Tony Walls, playing in his first season with the Ambush, leads the Ambush offense in the two games they’ve played with a goal and two assists. For Milwaukee, Ian Bennett is dangerous as always. He notched two goals and an assist in the Wave’s victory over the Ambush November 29.
With goalkeeper Josh Lemos out for the season due to injury, Rafael Dias figures to be the Wave’s primary keeper this season. He’s off to a good start, posting a goals against average of 2.00 with an impressive .895 save percentage in the November 29 match. His save percentage is the best in the MASL. Ambush goalkeeper Paulo’s .711 save percentage is good for eighth in the league and he is one of only two goalkeepers to score a goal thus far in the young season.
Following Sunday’s duel, the I-70 rival Kansas City Comets come to town Sunday, December 15 at 3:05 p.m. CST followed by the Tacoma Stars on December 27 and the Comets again on December 31.
