by St. Louis Ambush

St. Louis Ambush forward Zach Reget has been named to the Major Arena Soccer League’s Team of the Week for Week Four of the 2018-19 season. Two other Ambush players, goalkeeper Paulo and forward JT Thomas, earned honorable mention in the weekly awards.

The Ambush played one game during Week Four, a 6-5 victory over the cross-state rival Kansas City Comets on December 22. That game marked the second time in as many games the Ambush defeated the Comets and the first time ever the Ambush won consecutive games over their I-70 rivals. Reget was instrumental in that win, posting two goals and an assist. His rookie season in the MASL is off to a superb start, with seven points (six goals and one assist) in five games played.

Zach is a native of Kenosha, Wisconsin who started playing youth soccer at the age of three. He played collegiate soccer at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, where he was a four year starter, NCCAA All- American, four time CCAC All-Region Team, two time CCAC first team selection, NCCAA All- Midwest Region first team, Team Captain, four time Offensive Player of the Year, three time Trinity MVP and third on the list of all-time goal scorers.

The Ambush signed Reget late in the 2017-18 season, which he spent on the reserve squad. He moved to the active roster this season and has appeared in all five Ambush games thus far.

Paulo has won both games he has appeared in, currently leads the MASL in save percentage (.783) and ranks eighth in goals against average (4.86). Thomas tallied two goals in the December 22 contest and has four points (three goals, one assist) in four games played this season.

The Ambush and Comets will battle for the third consecutive game when the series returns to the Family Arena this Saturday, December 29 at 7:05 p.m. The Ambush are offering a “Adamson 4-Pack, 4 for $40” ticket special for the December 29 game. The 4-pack offer is good only through December 27. The December 29 game also features the popular annual Kids Bash at no extra charge following the game.
