by St. Louis Ambush

The St. Louis Ambush (1-1) travel to Pennsylvania on Saturday to face the Harrisburg Heat (0-1) at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Arena at 6:05 p.m. CST.

Saturday’s duel is the first of two between the Ambush and Heat for the 2018-19 regular season. The second will be Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Family Arena. These two teams also met twice last season, with the Heat prevailing in both matches.

The Ambush are 1-1 on the young season, having won a thrilling 5-4 contest in an overtime shootout against the Orlando SeaWolves last Friday, then falling 9-4 to the Florida Tropics on Saturday. Harrisburg has played one game, losing 9-7 to Utica City FC on Saturday.

Early season leaders for the Ambush are forward Jerjer Gibson (three points) and midfielders Mario Marcos, Antonio Manfut and Lucas Almeida (two points each). Early leaders for the Heat are forward Tom Mellor and midfielder Ricardo Carvalho (three points each) and forward Daniel Villelha (two points).

Saturday’s game will be an opportunity for Ambush defender Douglas Dos Santos to make a good showing against his former team. Dos Santos was acquired by the Ambush from the Heat before the start of the season in November. He appeared in 14 games for the Heat last season.
