“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is the newest “Star Wars” spinoff film and of course tells the story of a young Han Solo and shows what he was like before meeting Luke and Leia, how he meets Chewbacca and Lando, how he gets the Falcon, and shows what happened on one of his first adventures.
I’m going to start off by saying, I really enjoyed this film, is it perfect no, but it is a very enjoyable and entertaining adventure film and also it’s a great “Star Wars” film. I’ll start with the cast. I was really happy when they chose Alden Ehrenreich to play Han Solo and he did not disappoint, he did his own thing with this character and it worked and there were points in this film where I was telling myself that is Han Solo. Donald Glover was fantastic as Lando Calrissian like I figured he was going to be, Woody Harrelson did a great job in the film, and Emilia Clarke did really good as well.
I thought the direction by Ron Howard was done really well, the camera work in the film was great, the cinematography done by Bradford Young was phenomenal and probably the best I have seen in a “Star Wars” film, and the score by John Powell was really great too.
I thought the humor was pretty good, but not great, I loved the back and forth between Han and Chewie and also Han and Lando, and the whole crew Han was with, had great chemistry together.
In the end, I really enjoyed “Solo” and cannot wait to see it again and if you are a fan of “Star Wars” definitely go check it out because it really is worth the price of admission and a very enjoyable time at the movies.
