by St. Louis Ambush

St. Louis Ambush defender Dylan Hundelt earned a spot on the Major Arena Soccer League’s Team of the Week for Week 16 of the 2017-18 season.

In Friday’s 7-6 win over Kansas City, Hundelt notched a goal and an assist. On Saturday, the Ambush narrowly lost 8-7 in overtime to Cedar Rapids, but Hundelt did his part to help keep the game close, posting two more goals.

Dylan Hundelt is a St. Louis native who went to the U17 National Finals while playing with the Scott Gallagher Soccer Club. He played prep soccer at CBC High School. Dylan spent his collegiate career at the University of Mississippi, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. The 2017-18 season is Dylan’s third with the Ambush. Dylan is the son of former Steamers, Storm and Ambush star Kevin Hundelt.

In his rookie season (2015-16) with the Ambush, Dylan appeared in 11 games, registering one assist and 13 blocked shots. During his injury-shortened 2016-17 season, he appeared in seven games and logged one assist and eight blocked shots. Thus far this season, Hundelt has appeared in 14 games, scored five goals, added four assists and blocked 19 shots.

The Ambush will be on the road for two games this weekend against the same team. On Friday, February 16 and Sunday, February 18, the Ambush collide with the Syracuse Silver Knights at the Oncenter War Memorial Arena in Syracuse, New York. Following the weekend series in Syracuse, the Ambush return home to the Family Arena for their final game of the 2017-18 season when they host the Monterrey Flash on Sunday, February 23 at 3:05 p.m. CT.
