The St. Louis Ambush kick off the home portion of their 2015-16 Major Arena Soccer League season at the Family Arena Saturday, November 4 at 4:35 p.m., General Manager Andrew Haines announced today. The 2015-16 campaign will consist of ten home games and ten road games. All home contests will be at the Family Arena in St. Charles.
The Ambush compiled a 4-16 record as an expansion team in 2013-14 and doubled their wins to finish with an 8-12 record last season. The team has improved their scoring power during the off-season with the signing of Freddy Moojen (39 goals and 13 assists last season), Lucas Almeida (23 goals, 19 assists last season) and the re-signing of 2014-15 Rookie of the Year Gordy Gurson (46 goals, 18 assists last season), who the Ambush originally acquired in a mid-season trade.
The opponent for the home opener will be announced in the coming weeks, along with the full season schedule and the start date for single-game ticket sales. Season tickets are on sale now and start as low as $100 for all ten home games. Call the Ambush office at 636-477-6363 for more information.
Fans can get a preview of the 2015-16 squad when the Ambush host a free Fan Fest and pre-season game Saturday, October 3 at the Family Arena. Among the activities planned are a block party with music, inflatables for the kids,a premiere showing of the documentary “Whoomp There It Is: The Story of the 1995 NPSL Champion St. Louis Ambush,” and a pre-season game against the expansion Cedar Rapids Rampage, followed by an autograph session on the field.
