St. Charles, MO – The St. Louis Ambush have signed veteran forward Elvir Kafedzic to a two year deal. The 2015-16 season will be Kafedzic’s ninth in professional indoor soccer. “Elvir is a talented forward and adds a valuable veteran presence to the team,” said Ambush General Manager Andrew Haines in announcing the deal.
Kafezic tallied 17 goals and 15 assists in 16 games for the Ambush last season. He compiled 74 goals and 30 assists thus far in his career. He has played for the St. Louis Steamers, California Cougars, Chicago Storm, Illinois Piasa, Rockford Rampage and the Ambush. Kafedzic joined the Ambush in their 2013-14 inaugural season. He has also played outdoors with the St. Louis Strikers and AC St. Louis.
Kafedzic grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina before his family immigrated to Berlin, Germany in the early 1990’s. In 1999, Kafedzic and family moved to St. Louis, where he attended Affton High School. Elvir made his mark on the collegiate soccer scene as a member of the Lindenwood Lions team that won 2004 NAIA National Championship.
The Ambush play in the Major Arena Soccer League and will kick off their 2015-16 season in November. Season tickets are on sale and start at only $100 for all ten home games. The schedule is expected to be released in September.
