Corey Adamson was traded to the Milwaukee Wave this weekend after nearly two seasons with the St. Louis Ambush. The trade was announced Sunday, and it was immediately met with an outpouring from fans. Adamson retweeted numerous fan reactions to the news ranging from sad he was going to angry at management for trading him, but he had not made a statement himself.
I contacted Adamson to get his thoughts on the trade.
What was your reaction when you learned you were traded?
When I got the call Saturday night, I was filled with a ton of mixed emotions. I put my heart and soul into everything I did in St. Louis and moved my whole life here with the hope that I would build a new life. However, knowing that I was traded to one of the most prestigious organizations, not to mention a team with a chance to win a championship, let alone lock up a playoff spot, was an incredible feeling.
How will you remember your time in St. Louis?
I’ve met so many amazing people here through team functions, countless charity events, school readings, and speeches in my short time here. I’ve been able to create what I hope to be lifelong friendships with so many people here and I will always consider STL my home no matter what.
The past two seasons here in STL have been extremely tough, this season especially. The guys in that locker room work so hard and have so much talent; it’s just so tough to have the season turn out the way it has. With the right guidance, these guys will be an absolute force in this league next season.
How do you feel about getting traded to a contender in Milwaukee?
I cannot put in to words how amped I am to be a part of an incredible franchise on the verge of playoffs and championship run. I have gotten to know all of them pretty well these past two seasons and cannot wait to get on the field with them!
