Veteran star Stefan St. Louis (lou–EE) and Belleville’s Manny Forbes have both signed with the St. Louis Ambush, the team announced today.
“Adding the size and experience of Stefan will be an improvement to our young team,” said Ambush Head Coach Daryl Doran. With Manny’s speed, and quickness we expect him to be a playmaker right away.”
St. Louis, who won a championship last year with the Missouri Comets, hails from Chaguana, Trinidad and Tobago. He had 23 points in 19 games last season with Missouri. Prior to playing for the Comets, St. Louis played for the Detroit Waza and had 15 goals and 3 assists during his four seasons at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI.
“I’m really excited to be joining the Ambush,” said St. Louis. “They have a good organization and I am looking forward to playing in front of the great fans in St. Louis.”
Forbes, 24, attended college at Southern Wesleyan University, where he played both forward and midfielder while earning a spot on the SSAC All-Eastern team and the NCAA All-South Region Team.
“A lot of time life does not go the way we plan it to be and I believe the reason for that is because God has bigger plans for us in our life,” said Forbes. “Now with this opportunity I hope and pray that everything I do – whether it is in playing, developing my relationship with my teammates and coaches, staff members and serving the community of St. Louis and the Ambush organization – is for the glory and honor of God. I thank God and the Ambush organization for this opportunity. Great things are about to take place in St. Louis.”
