Ambush Sign Veteran Goal Scorer Jamar Beasley

The St. Louis Ambush announced the signing of veteran goal scorer, Jamar Beasley. Beasley was a fan favorite with the St. Louis Steamers during the 05-06 season, when he scored 33 goals in 30 games. Jamar is brother to United States National Team defender DaMarcus Beasley. “Jamar was a dynamic player for the Steamers,” stated St. Louis Ambush Owner Andrew Haines. “We were looking for some veteran leadership on and off the field and we feel Jamar will embrace this role, and help develop our young core.”

The 34-year old forward last appeared in St. Louis as a member of the 2005-06 Steamers squad that came within a goal of capturing the MISL crown. He has been a member of the Detroit Ignition (2007-2008 MISL MVP), Rockford Rampage, Missouri Comets, Wichita Wings and the Syracuse Silver Knights since his time in St. Louis. Beasley has scored 216 goals in his professional indoor career, which has span over 10 seasons.

Jamar is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He began is professional career in 1998 when he was signed by MLS directly out of high school. At the time, he was the youngest player signed by MLS. Beasley appeared at the World Youth Championship in Nigeria with the U20 United States National Team. In 2004 and 2008, Beasley represented the USA at the Futsal World Cup in Chinese Taipei and Brazil respectively.

Beasley said he’s looking forward to returning to St. Louis. “I loved playing for the Steamers and enjoyed the great relationship with the fans in St. Louis,” Jamar said, “I am thrilled to see professional indoor soccer back in St. Louis and I am looking forward to joining the Ambush this fall.”

The St. Louis Ambush will continue their Summer Outdoor Series Saturday, August 9th when they take on the Illinois Piasa at Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri.
