Heading into Saturday’s game questions arose around whether or not the Missouri defensive line would be able to stop Heisman favorite and Georgia running back Todd Gurley. Throw that out the window. Gurley was suspended indefinitely this afternoon for violating NCAA rules.

Gurley currently leads the SEC in rushing with 773 yards and eight touchdowns. The superstar back has been a staple for the 13th ranked Bulldogs this season. The team will now have to ride the back of quarterback Hutson Mason and the banged up Georgia receiving corps. Freshman Nick Chubb and sophomore Brendan Douglas will likely split carries in Gurley’s absence.

Maty Mauk and the Tiger offense look to keep the momentum going on Saturday after coming off a huge win on the road against the 13th ranked South Carolina Gamecocks. Tiger wide receivers Darius White and Jimmie Hunt will be back in the lineup after nursing injuries in the game against South Carolina, which is great news for Missouri fans.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. at Faurot Field.

Update: According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s website AJC.com, a person familiar with the situation stated that the allegations surrounding Gurley are related to the sale of signed memorabilia. Unlike the Johnny Manziel case there is evidence to support the allegations against Gurley, which could cost him the rest of his season.

A person familiar with the investigation of the possible violations by Georgia running back Todd Gurley told the AJC on Friday that it’s a “significant” case of the sale of memorabilia and there is a possibility that Gurley may not be cleared to return to the field this season.
