Saint Louis men’s basketball has climbed to No. 8 in the USA Today coaches’ poll, which was released today. The Billikens held at No. 10 in this week’s AP Top 25.
It’s the second week in a row SLU is in the top 10. The last time SLU registered a top-10 ranking in the AP poll was the 1964-65 season, when the Billikens were No. 9 in the Dec. 29, 1964, poll. It is the seventh week in a row SLU has been nationally ranked.
Saint Louis is 25-2 overall and has won a school-record 19 games in a row. The Billikens, who are 12-0 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, have a three-game lead in the conference standings.
SLU hosts Duquesne Thursday night at Chaifetz Arena at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on NBC Sports Network. The Billikens then head to VCU to face the Rams on Saturday, March 1. Tip time is scheduled for 5 p.m. (CT), and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
