Kyle O’Kane scored his fourth goal in six games to tie the game at 4-4 midway through the third period but the Beast answered just over two minutes later to take a 5-4 lead and send the Chill to a record of 6-10-5 in one-goal games.
Rookie Travis Ouellette started the scoring less than three minutes in for the Chill (10-35-5) when he tallied his third in seven game with Nicklas Lindberg and Kyle O’Kane getting the assists. St. Charles would hold that lead until Brampton’s Matt Caruana stole the puck with the Chill on the power play and tied the score. The Beast (25-21-5) added a second goal less than three minutes later to take a 2-1 lead that would remain into the first intermission.
St. Charles would not take long to even the score. The veterans hooked up just two minutes into the second as John Snowden lit the lamp for the seventh time on the 23rd point from Martin Hlinka. Zack Josepher added his second of the road trip on Snowden’s second point of the night to give the Chill a 3-2 lead midway through the second period but after the Beast had a goal disallowed they tied it up minutes later. Tyler Michel evened the score at 3-3 with a power play goal with under five minutes left in the second and Brampton added a goal from Brett Smith in the final minute to take a 4-3 lead.
O’Kane tied the score at the 12:08 mark on assists from Mike MacIntyre and Nick Schneider but the Beast answered to take a 5-4 lead with just over five minutes left and held on to send the Chill to their 16th loss by one goal.
