WWE NXT Reveals April Debut At Family Arena

One of sports entertainment’s hottest organizations revealed Monday that they will be making their inaugural local live appearance next month.

WWE NXT, the developmental branch of World Wrestling Entertainment, will present a multi-match event on Friday, April 28 at Family Arena in St. Charles. Bell time is set for 7:30 p.m.

Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative, tweeted Monday afternoon that the organization will be making a Midwestern trek that also includes stops at Kansas City satellite city Independence, Missouri and Memphis, Tennessee suburb Southhaven, Mississippi. All three locations marks first-time visits for the touring group that WWE created in 2012.

Tickets for the St. Charles event, which start at $15, will go on sale Friday morning at 10 AM and are available at the Family Arena Box Office, by calling (314) 534-1111 or by going to metrotix.com.

Scheduled to appear at the April 28 donnybrook are current NXT Champion Bobby Roode, current NXT Womens Champion Asuka, two-time NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, former NXT Tag Team Champions #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa), Tye Dillinger, Ember Moon, Kassius Ohno, Andrade “Cien” Almas and others.

Based in Winter Park, Florida, NXT produces a weekly television show that debuts new episodes on the WWE Network Wednesdays at 7 p.m. The organization began promoting events outside its Floridian home base in 2015 and its most recent special event seen on WWE Network, January’s “NXT Takeover San Antonio,” drew over 9,400 spectators in Texas.

The April 28 NXT event will be the fourth appearance of professional wrestling at Family Arena. Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) presented “Wrestlepalooza” in 2000 while Total Nonstop Action (TNA) presented its “Lockdown” pay-per-view events in 2007 and 2010.
