2017 MVC Men’s Basketball All-Conference Team

by Press Release

The Missouri Valley Conference has announced its 2017 all-league units, including first, second and third teams, an all-Newcomer team, an all-Freshman team, and all-Defensive team.  Specialty awards will be released later today (2 pm CT).

The first-team unit consists of two seniors, a junior, a sophomore and a freshman.   Paris Lee of Illinois State (Sr.), Milton Doyle of Loyola (Sr.), Alize Johnson of Missouri State (Jr.), Markis McDuffie of Wichita State (So.) and Landry Shamet of Wichita State (Fr.) headline the list of 15 who earned all-league honors this year.  Shamet becomes just the fourth MVC freshman to earn first-team honors (Doug McDermott of CU in 2011, Cleo Littleton of WSU in 1952, and Vernon Yates of Oklahoma State in 1942).

Voting was conducted by a panel of 45 voters (four voters from each school, including the head coach, sports information director and two media representatives, and five MVC TV network on-air talent).
