The Saint Louis women’s soccer team has achieved its highest Mid-Atlantic Region ranking of the season, jumping two spots to No. 3 in this week’s poll conducted by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
The Billikens topped Murray State 1-0 in double overtime in their only game last week. The victory gave Saint Louis a final nonconference record of 7-2, tying the third-best nonconference mark in the Billiken program’s 21-year history.
Princeton is the Mid-Atlantic’s top-ranked team for a second consecutive week, and Bucknell comes in at No. 2. Saint Louis is followed by Saint Joseph’s, George Mason, Brown, Lehigh, UNC-Wilmington, Harvard and Dartmouth.
SLU opens Atlantic 10 Conference play Thursday, Sept. 29, at Dayton. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. (CT). The Billikens’ next home game is Sunday, Oct. 2, against A-10 foe Rhode Island at 1 p.m.
