St. Louis CITY SC has signed Missouri-native John Klein on a short-term loan agreement from the Club’s MLS NEXT Pro team St Louis CITY2. Klein will be available for Wednesday’s MLS match against Real Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. CT at CITYPARK.

Klein, 23, earned his second short-term loan to the first team this season, previously featuring for the senior roster against Sporting Kansas City on May 20. The Columbia, Missouri, native made his first MLS appearance against SKC, coming on as a sub and played 12 minutes. He has started 15 matches with CITY2 and has tallied six goals and one assist.

Per MLS rules, the short-term agreement allows clubs to sign players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship and exhibition matches.
