MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis Redbirds concluded a six-game homestand with a 7-4 loss to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.
After Jacksonville brought home a pair in the top of the first, Memphis catcher Ivan Herrera slapped a two-run double with no outs in the bottom half of the inning. Herrera finished the afternoon 1-for-3 with two RBI, a walk and a run scored.

First baseman Luken Baker continued his production with two more RBI in a 1-for-4 effort. Baker’s 29 RBI are tied for third in the International League to go along with his IL leading 12 home runs.
Zack Thompson made his first start and first appearance with Memphis this season. The left-handed pitcher tossed 1.2 innings, allowed two runs on two hits, walked two and struck out two. In relief, Connor Thomas (4-2) pitched 5.1 innings, allowed three earned runs on eight hits and struck out three. Thomas has now gone five innings or more and allowed three earned runs or less in five consecutive appearances.
