Lindenwood Men’s Hockey Surges Past Stonehill, Wins 10-3

The Lindenwood men’s hockey team (7-17-0) blew past Stonehill (14-6-2) by a score of 10-3 on Saturday afternoon from Centene Community Ice Center. This is the second sweep of the year for the Lions.

GAME OVERVIEW

Lindenwood came out of the gates fast, scoring two goals in the first four minutes of the game. Adam Conquest opened the scoring just 26 seconds into the game, assisted by Andy Willis and Hunter Johannes. Shortly after, Willis doubled the Lindenwood lead helped out by Aiden Yakimchuk and Jack Anderson. The Lions added two more goals in the first frame, provided by Kieran Ruscheinski and Cade DeStefani. The goal for Ruscheinski was the first of his Lindenwood career. The Lions led 4-0 after the break.

Lindenwood kept up the offensive pressure in the second period, adding four more goals in the middle frame, including another from Adam Conquest and the first of the year from Kabore Dunn. With the help of 19 shots on goal in the second period, the Lions took a commanding 8-2 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Jack Anderson and Shane Lavelle added scores in the third period, bringing the Lindenwood total up to 10 for the game. Matt Ladd finished the game with 28 saves and picked up his first win of the season. That victory means that all three Lindenwood goaltenders have picked up victories this season.

Ten Lindenwood players recorded multi-point efforts in the win, including David Gagnon (three points), Ryan Finnegan (two points) and Caige Sterzer (two points)
