Saint Louis head men’s basketball coach Travis Ford announced today that 6-foot-10 power forward Brock Vice (Germantown, Tenn. / Houston HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Saint Louis University and play for the Billikens. Vice begins his four years of eligibility in the 2023-24 season.
“We are excited to welcome Brock into the Team Blue family,” Ford said. “He is a very skilled player with size who can play multiple positions. I see Brock playing the four or stretch-five because for his size he shoots the ball well, can handle it and is a very good passer. He is also a high-level rebounder and shot-blocker.
“Brock is a hard-nosed player who plays with great toughness and grit that you can’t teach,” Ford said. “He isn’t afraid to compete against anyone. We fell in love with his game the first time we saw him play. His best basketball is ahead of him and we are excited to be a part of it.”
Vice is in his senior season at Houston High School in the Memphis area. Last year, he averaged 19.1 points and 10 rebounds for the Mustangs. Vice was a sophomore on Houston’s state championship team in 2020-21.
Playing with the Arkansas Hawks on the AAU adidas circuit last summer, Vice averaged nearly 14 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots a game.
Vice is a wide receiver on Houston’s football team, which is one of the top teams in the Memphis area and currently in the playoffs. He leads the Mustangs in receptions and touchdowns. Vice was recently named a first-team All-Region wide receiver, as selected by the Region 8-6A head coaches.
Vice joins Cian Medley (Sicklerville, N.J. / Camden HS) as newcomers to next year’s team.
