The Black Crowes headlined a show at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater on Saturday night with Dirty Honey as the opener.
Dirty Honey, by way of Los Angeles, warmed up the crowd with a hearty and energetic set of grit-rock and was the perfect preface for fans of the Black Crowes.
As the lights went down for the start of the show, the quintessential artists of the ’90s and 2000s appeared as though they were bellied up to an old fashioned bar, set up at stage right, with front man, Chris Robinson seated front/center on the drum riser, hidden by a parasol emblazoned with the iconic Crowes graphic. They busted right into a few of their well-known hits and pleased the fans by hitting them all, along a cover of the Rolling Stones hit, “It’s Only Rock n Roll (But I Like It)”.
The longevity of the Black Crowes has had zero impact on their energy on stage and put on an incredible show, to say the least.
The near sold out crowd exploded from the strike of the first cord, and the fire burned hot until the house lights rose.
As always, the friendly and helpful staff at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater ensured that entrance procedures ran smoothly and show-goers were given the best experience possible. Masks were not mandated, but a handful of fans electively wore theirs throughout the entirety of the event.
