Jake Allen stopped 24 shots in route to a 2-0 victory against the New Jersey Devils.

Allen has now held opposing teams scoreless for the past 165:59 and stopped the past 96 of 97 shots faced. With the win, Allen’s stat line now sits at seven wins, three losses, a 1.53 GAA and a save percentage of .950.

With the win, the Blues have won three straight games and are 11-3-1. St. Louis’s 23 points is enough for second in the Central Division, just one point behind the Dallas Stars.

After being outshot 11-6 in the first period, St. Louis held the game scoreless and came out strong in the second period with 11 of the period’s first 12 shots.

Former New Jersey Devil Scott Gomez sent a pass to another former New Jersey Devil, Martin Havlat, in the slot who scored high past Cory Schneider for the goal. The goal put the Blues out in front 1-0 4:57 into the second period.

The goal is also Havlat’s first as a member of the St. Louis Blues in his first game with the Blues after Havlat signed with the team last week.

With the 1-0 lead heading into the third period, Magnus Pajaarvi-Svensson added a bit of insurance 3:28 into the period. Alex Pietrangelo took a shot that Schneider stopped. But, Pajaarvi was there to net the rebound making it 2-0.

St. Louis will square off next against the New York Rangers on Thursday, Nov. 12. The game is set for 6 p.m. as the Blues look to take all eight points in its four-game road trip.
