Enos Stanley Kroenke has always had a share of ownership of the Rams since 1995, when he helped bring them to St. Louis. He took over majority ownership of the then St. Louis Rams in 2010. Enos then purposefully drove the St. Louis Rams into the ground for years, ensuring that fans wouldn’t show up to see some of the worst football in NFL history, including a 15-65 stretch, the worst five season stretch of a team in NFL history.
After promising football fans in St. Louis that their football team would not be going anywhere, poor Enos cried and cried to the NFL that St. Louis was no longer working out, despite the city promising him a new stadium on the riverfront that would include $400 million in funding from the city, nearly half of the cost of the stadium. But despite St. Louis being ranked as one of the top cities in the country for startup business and an ever growing development in additions to the city landscape, Enos whined and whined that the team could not be sustained in the city of St. Louis any longer. Enos got his wish from the cowardly NFL and was allowed to relocate his franchise to Los Angeles. Also do not forgot than Enos trashed the city of St. Louis on every step of the way out in a 29 page report, the same city he had grown up just and hour and a half away from.
Enos owns multiple professional sports teams, none that are overly successful historically under his ownership. This is because of course Enos never cares about if his teams win or not, just as long as the money keeps on adding up in his pockets. From 2010-2016 under his majority ownership, the Rams went 40-71-1 (.357 winning %).
But of course after their first season in LA, the Rams somehow and someway figured out how to run a football team. They hired an offensive guru in Sean McVay, and finally spent money and future draft picks on some of the best players in the NFL today. This resulted in them going 11-5 in 2017, winning the NFC West before losing in the Wildcard Round. Then this year, the Rams went 13-3 and beat the Cowboys and Saints to reach their first Super Bowl since 2001.
But Enos’ losing ways have once again caught up with him. In the biggest sporting event of the year, his Los Angeles Rams lost to the New England Patriots 13-3 in Super Bowl LIII. Enos is still yet to win a Super Bowl in his nine seasons of majority ownership of the Rams. Their overall record under his ownership is still a losing one at 64-79-1. As we have been saying for a long time in St. Louis for the football team owned by Enos Kroenke, better luck next year.
