Bold Predictions after the Trade Deadline for Week 9
Terrelle Pryor
He’s a truly bold and ballsy play this week. The reason I like him however is due to his experience at the QB position. The Bills are starting Nathan Peterman tomorrow and have signed Matt Barkley as his back-up. What does that mean? It means the Bills are desperate for offensive production. Nathan Peterman has played in 7 games and averages 4.4 yards per attempt and a completion percentage of 45%. That is awful for a QB. To put this into perspective, Matt Barkley and TP has a better average per attempt and completion percentage. I could see Terrelle Pryor being used as both a receiver and QB this game which in all leagues is great for Fantasy value.
Amari Cooper
Who was once Amari “Pooper” now has the potential to turn back into the first-round pick Amari Cooper we all know. With the trade from Oakland to Dallas, Cowboys OC Scott Linehan said Amari Cooper will play a “significant amount” of snaps on Monday. They aren’t easing him into the system. They are making sure he is ready for Monday and won’t settle for him to be out of the lineup. With the weaker secondary in Tennessee, Cooper should have an easier test for his first game. Will they utilize him like they should? Hopefully, Dak will realize who his #1 receiver is.
Start or Sit
- Kenny Golladay – Start…with the trade of Golden Tate, it’s time for Golladay to make an impact. With size like “Megatron” who used to crush the Vikings secondary, Golladay has a chance to make a real impact. Yes I know he’s not Calvin Johnson, but he’s got similar size.
- Austin Ekeler – Sit…Melvin Gordon was a full participant in practice Friday.
- Mark Ingram – Sit…Facing off against an even stronger Rams defense with the addition of Dante Fowler, makes Ingram a tough start. This will be more of a shootout through the air over a run heavy matchup.
- Cooper Kupp – Start…Finally cleared from the injury report, he should be greatly used in the shootout against New Orleans.
- DJ Moore – Start…Moore had a career game last week and has another golden opportunity against a TB secondary that gives up 318 passing yards per game.
Watching the Waiver
- Marquez Valdes-Scantling – GB WR – 11 catches on 21 targets over the last 3 games with over 200 yards receiving and 2 TDs. Regardless of the return from Cobb and Allison, he’s worth keeping an eye on.
- Hayden Hurst – BAL TE – He’s the future starter of this position. The first-rounder is slowing finding his way to the starting job and caught his first TD next week. If before the end of the year he has the job, you’ll want to be the first to add him.
- David Moore – SEA RB – He’s been a TD machine and one of the favorite targets of Russell Wilson over the past 3 games recording 4 total TDs and 185 yards on 9 catches. The thing about him is that he catches everything that comes his way. A potential star in the making is worth a stash in deep bench leagues.
Week 9 Picks
(11-3) last week and this week I regretfully took the Raiders on Thursday Night.
More next week…Good Luck!
