Cardinals Museum Offers Free Admission to Veterans and Active Military During Memorial Day Weekend

by Press Release

In honor of Memorial Day weekend, veterans and active duty military personnel are invited to a free visit at the St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum. While the Museum always offers a military discount, free admission will be extended to all veterans and active service men and women with valid military identification from Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25.

Guests will enjoy the history of the St. Louis Cardinals through displays of memorabilia, videos, interactive exhibits and more. Multiple displays include a military connection including an area about the 1944 all-St. Louis World Series and World War II’s impact on that event, as well as a special exhibit entitled Stan Musial: “The Man” Off the Field which includes Musial’s 1945 Navy baseball jersey, hat and government-issued peacoat.

The Cardinals Hall of Fame and Museum is open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily. Veterans and active military personnel may take advantage of this weekend’s special offer by simply visiting the front desk of the Cardinals Museum, on the second floor of Cardinals Nation in Ballpark Village. For more information about the museum, visit cardinals.com/museum.
During Memorial Day weekend, and all season long, active, reserve and retired career military personnel are eligible to receive free tickets to every Cardinals home game. To redeem the free tickets, eligible fans must show a valid ID at Busch Stadium ticket windows 17-18 no earlier than one hour prior to game time. Tickets are based on availability. Blackout dates may apply. The Cardinals also host several military appreciation nights at the stadium which allow military personnel, friends and family the opportunity to purchase significantly discounted all-inclusive tickets to select games. For more information, visit cardinals.com/military.

Throughout Memorial Day and the entire 2015 season, fans are also encouraged to salute the troops on the Busch stadium scoreboard. Military salutes begin running in the top of the 5th inning on the narrow ribbon scoreboards located along the 1st and 3rd base foul lines. Fans may submit a free military salute up to 48 hours before game time at cardinals.com/militarysalute.
