Three members of the O’Fallon Hoots, Jack Meyer, Bryson Lofton and Markell Dixon, were selected to the Western Conference All-Star Team by the Prospect League. All-Star selections were made by League managers.

“We are incredibly proud of Jack, Bryson and Markell for their accomplishments this season,” Hoots General Manager David Schmoll said. “Their numbers speak for themselves and were rightly recognized by other League members for their success. But even more than that, they are outstanding people who represented the Hoots and O’Fallon community with pride.”

Lofton, recognized by the Hoots’ Booster Club as their Player of the Year, was selected as the Western Conference’s All Star third baseman. The junior led the Hoots in batting average (.392), on base percentage (.497), RBI (42) and home runs (7). Additionally, the Resaca, Georgia-native led the Prospect League in slugging percentage (.677).

Meyer, a junior from Lindenwood University, did not join the Hoots until June 29, but made a large enough impact to be named the Western Conference’s All Star second baseman. The Fenton, Missouri-native and graduate of Rockwood Summit High School led the Hoots in doubles with 16, which finished fourth in the Prospect League. Meyer finished with a .383 batting average, .460 on base percentage, 23 RBI, two home runs and 10 stolen bases.

Dixon, a junior committed to Drury University, earned the Hoots’ Booster Club honor of Pitcher of the Year and was selected as a Western Conference All Star Relief Pitcher. The St. Louis, Missouri-native led the Hoots with 63 strikeouts on the season, good for third in the Prospect League. The McCluer North-graduate threw in 37.1 innings with a 3.13 earned run average with 13 earned runs.
