The O’Fallon Hoots are teaming up with the St. Charles County Police Department, Central County Fire and Rescue Community Outreach and the O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach to bring a family-friendly and community-focused event to CarShield Field with the 1st Annual ServPro First Responder Softball Showdown on October 4. First pitch is at 7:00 p.m.

“Our committee has been diligently working to get this event up and running for the past several months and we are excited to finally let the community know about it,” Hoots General Manager David Schmoll said. “Any chance we have to support our local heroes and put on an event for our community, we are all about it. We can’t wait to see who will come out on top in year 1!”

The ServPro First Responder Softball Showdown will feature a slow pitch softball game between members of the St. Charles County Police Department and members of both Central County Fire and Rescue and O’Fallon Fire Department. The softball game will be nine innings.

“The charity softball event is an exciting way to join with our fellow First Responders for a great cause,” St. Charles County Police Department Public Information Officer Barry Bayles said. “Our goal at the SCCPD Blue Line Family Charity is to add another layer of support for all of our employees. We’re hoping the community comes out to join in on the fun. ‘Bragging rights’ are on the line!”

“Firefighters and Police Officers often share a strong sense of camaraderie, giving their mutual commitment and dedication to public safety,” Central County Fire and Rescue Outreach Coordinator Captain Matt Conoyer said. “Our organizations often collaborate with the SCCPD during emergency situations and we rely on each other’s expertise. We are proud to bring this camaraderie, along with some friendly competition, to CarShield Field for the inaugural ‘Showdown!’”

Throughout the event, fans will have the opportunity to win prizes from local companies through a special Home Run Sweepstakes and bid on prizes in a silent auction. Additional activities will be announced throughout the fall as the event approaches.

Tickets for the inaugural event go on sale, Monday, August 12 at noon and are available online at ofallonhoots.com. General admission tickets for the event are $9. Friends and Family tickets are available for groups of four or more and include a ticket to the event, hot dog, bag of chips and soft drink for $10 per ticket. Suites, all-inclusive four and six top seating and the all-you-can-eat Picnic Perch will all be available for purchase.

A portion of all ticket sales will benefit the St. Charles County Police Department Blue Line Family, Central County Fire and Rescue Community Outreach and O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach.
